MILLS RECORDS NEW CAREER HIGH LEADS LADY CHARGERS TO THIRD STRAIGHT WIN
Bridgeport, Conn. (12/6/22) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball team downed the University of Bridgeport for their third consecutive win in conference action today by a score of 80-66.

After the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 6-4 overall and 3-0 in the CACC. The Purple Knights fall to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) recorded a new career high in points with 27 and also added five assists and three rebounds. Mills finished the game 10-16 from the floor and went 7-10 from the free-throw line.
Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) contributed 13 points, five rebounds, and added two steals. Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) also added five assists and scored seven points while Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) recorded a team-high 10 boards. Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) provided 12 points, eight boards, and four steals off the bench.
The Purple Knights held a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Chargers played a strong second quarter by putting up a total of 26 points and held a 41-34 lead by halftime.
The Lady Chargers extended to their largest lead of the game in the third quarter which was 16 points. Bridgeport closed the gap late in the third quarter by cutting the Dominican lead to eight points.
Dominican held a ten point lead by the start of the fourth quarter but the Purple Knights fought back to cut the lead to three points. The Lady Chargers finished the game on a 13-2 run to close out the victory.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Friday, December 16th when they travel to Pace University for a non-conference game at 5:30 PM.
