The Lady Chargers defeated the Cougars by a score of 78-49 to improve to 8-5 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) was the leading scorer for the Lady Chargers by finishing with 15 points on 6-11 from the field. Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) provided 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Chidinma Ndukauba (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each scored 10 points and each added a team-high six boards.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) and Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) each recorded a team-high five assists. Suarez also contributed nine points, four rebounds, and three steals while Levy added six points, five rebounds, and two steals.
The Lady Chargers outrebounded the Cougars 48-37 in the game and added 12 second chance points. Dominican also added 38 points in the paint while only allowing Caldwell 12 points in the paint.
The Lady Chargers got off to a fast start in the opening quarter on a 13-3 run to open the game. Caldwell cut the deficit to four points but Dominican took a 17-11 lead into the second quarter.
Dominican followed up their strong first quarter with a strong second quarter and held a 34-22 lead by halftime. Dominican outscored the Cougars 44-27 in the second half on their way to the 78-49 victory.
The Cougars were led by Casey O'Shaughnessy who scored 16 points and added three boards. Alisa Blalock added nine points and a team-high five steals. Rebecca Morrison recorded a team-high eight boards.
The Lady Chargers return to action this Saturday, December 31st when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a CACC contest at 1:00 PM.
