HOWARD SCORES CAREER HIGH IN LOSS TO THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY

The Lady Chargers fall to 12-9 overall and 7-4 in conference play. The Rams improved to 18-3 overall and 10-1 in the CACC.
Prior to the start of the contest, Alexis Suarez was the recipient of the Annual Sue Heller Memorial Game.
Dominican was led by Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) who scored a career high 20 points and added a team high seven boards. Howard finished 9-16 from the field and added two three-pointers.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) added 13 points, three rebounds, and led the team in assists with six. Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) finished with 10 points and three boards including 3-5 from beyond the arc. DiMarsico scored all 10 of her points in the third quarter.
Jefferson was led by Cassie Murphy who finished with a double-double on 18 points and 10 boards. Morgan Robinson also added a double-double by finishing with 10 points and 10 boards as well as a team-high eight assists.
Haley Meinel also added 10 points while Emma Kuczynski added 16 points and six rebounds. Sam Yencha added 14 points and nine boards.
Jefferson got off to a fast start in the opening quarter by outscoring Dominican 23-10. The Rams followed up the strong first quarter with a strong second quarter and took a 44-21 lead into halftime. The Rams extended to their largest lead of the game which was 30 points in the third quarter.
The Lady Chargers finished off the third quarter strong by using a 17-2 run and cut the deficit in half by the start of the fourth quarter. DiMarsico and Mills combined for five three-pointers in the quarter during the run.
The Lady Chargers cut the Jefferson lead to 10 points late in the fourth quarter but the Rams secured the victory.
Dominican will return to action on Tuesday, January 31st when they host the University of Bridgeport for a CACC match up at 5:30 PM in the Hennessy Center.
