LADY CHARGERS DEFEAT LIONS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN
Lakewood, N.J. (2/4/23) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball team earned their second straight win as they defeated the Lions of Georgian Court University by a score of 63-56.

After the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 14-9 overall and 9-4 in conference play. The Lions fall to 7-11 overall and 5-7 in the conference.
The Lady Chargers finished the game 18-20 from the charity stripe including 10-12 in the fourth quarter.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) led the way for the Lady Chargers with 15 points including a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line. Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.) added 14 points in the win and went 4-4 from the free-throw line.
Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) each finished with nine points. DiMarsico scored all nine points from beyond the arc while Levy also added five steals, five assists, and seven boards. Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) recorded a team-high 13 rebounds.
Dominican got off to a strong start in the opening quarter by outscoring the Lions 17-11. The Lady Chargers would stay in front in the second quarter and would take a 30-27 lead by halftime.
The Lady Chargers extended to a double digit lead in the third quarter and then extended to their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter which was 14 points.
The Lions made a late push to cut the deficit to five points but the Lady Chargers held on for the 63-56 victory.
Dominican will return to action at home next Wednesday, February 8th when they host north division rival Felician University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM at the Hennessy Center.
