WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TURNS BACK FELICIAN UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/8/23) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team completed the series sweep of Felician University this evening as they defeated the Golden Falcons, 78-73, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division contest played on Coach Baxter Court.

With the win Dominican improves to 15-9 overall and 10-4 in conference play, while Felician falls to 8-12 overall and 5-8 in the CACC.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) led three Lady Chargers in double figures with 20 points (14-16 from the foul line).
Guard Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) netted 19 points (7-10 from the floor), six assists and a season high seven steals, while CACC Rookie of the Week, Cayla Howard (Naugatuck, Conn.), delivered 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in the victory.
Olivia Levy (Stony Point, N.Y.) contributed eight rebounds, five assists and three steals, with Kristen Teklits (New Fairfield, Conn.) pulling down five boards.
The Golden Falcons saw Briana Lee and Mimmi Hahne score 20 points a-piece.
The first quarter was a high scoring affair with a combined 48 points scored. The game was tied at 8-8 when Dominican put together a 12-4 run to claim a 20-12 advantage and would end the period with a 27-21 lead. An Angelina DiMarsico (Stony Point, N.Y.) trey with 57 seconds left in the quarter gave the Lady Chargers their biggest lead of the game 27-17).
Felician would close the gap in the second, outscoring Dominican 15-11, to make the score 38-36 at the intermission.
In the third quarter, Felician would use a 5-2 closing quarter run to pull in front 53-51.
A 5-2 opening run by the Golden Falcons to start the fourth period would see them gain their biggest lead (58-53) with 8:24 left to play. Traling 60-56, the Lady Chargers went on an 11-0 run to regain a 67-60 lead and go on to the 78-73 victory.
Up next for the Lady Chargers is a CACC contest against Holy Family University this coming Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 3pm on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
