BASEBALL RALLYS TO DEFEAT FELICIAN COLLEGE
Lyndhurst, NJ (3/22/11) The Dominican College baseball team rallied from a 6-3 deficit with a six run top of the ninth inning to defeat host, Felician College, 9-6, this evening in a non-conference game held at Lyndhurst Recreation Field. With the win the Chargers improve to 6-6 overall.

The Chargers trailed 4-0 when they scored two runs on two sacrifice fly balls in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 4-2. Michael Levy, Jr (Salisbury Mill, NY) led off the inning with a walk, stole second and moved to third on a Golden Falcon fielding error. He later scored on the sacrifice pop up by Tony Blake (Windsor, CT). First basemen Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) followed with a sacrifice fly ball to right field to plate Marco Moreno (Miami, FL).
Dominican scored another run in the eighth to pull within a run (4-3) as Blake was hit by a pitch with one out and moved to second on a failed pick off attempt. Mario Lopez (Anthony, NM) drew a two out walk and desginated hitter Christopher Brown (Tenafly, NJ) hit an RBI single to right field to bring in Blake.
Two runs by Felician in the bottom stanza rebuilt a 6-3 lead but the Chargers scored six runs on one hit in the ninth to pull out the 9-6 victory. Back-to-back walks issued to Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) and Levy put two on and Moreno was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Senior Dan Robinson (Massapequa, NY) drew the bases loaded walk to bring in a run and Blake followed with the fourth walk of the inning to bring in Levy. Camardella followed with an RBI single down the left field line and Lopez followed with another bases loaded walk to plate another Charger run. Brown then hit a sacrifice fly ball to right field to bring home Blake and Camardella later scored on a wild pitch for the sixth run of the inning.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Sal Sanquini (Levittown, NY) picked up his first collegiate win (1-0) , pitching three innings and allowing two runs on two hits. Luis Vasquez (Pomona, NY) got his first save of the season with a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth inning.
Starter Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, NY) went five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits and striking out seven.
