COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE BASEBALL RALLYS TO DEFEAT DOMINICAN CHARGERS
Orangeburg, NY (3/30/11) The College of Saint Rose baseball team rallied from a 5-3 deficit with a three-run eighth inning to defeat host, Dominican College 6-5, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Veteran's Memorial Park. With the victory the Golden Knights improve to 6-10 on the season, while the Chargers fall to 10-7 overall.

With the victory the Golden Knights improve to 6-10 on the season, while the Chargers fall to 10-7 overall.
Dominican jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Michael Levy, Jr (Salisbury Mill, NY) led off the inning with a single up-the-middle and senior Mario Lopez (Anthony, NM) followed with a single through the left side. A sacrifice bunt by Marco Moreno (Miami, FL) moved both runners and senior right fielder Dan Robinson (Massapequa, NY) delivered a two-run single up-the-middle for a 2-0 lead. Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) followed with an RBI double to left field to score Robinson and he scored as the next batter Tony Blake (Windsor, CT) hit a triple to left center field.
The Chargers added a run in the third to go up 5-0 as Blake doubled down the left field line to plate Robinson who had drawn a walk earlier in the inning.
The Golden Knights got a run back in the fourth taking advantage of two Charger errors, added two more runs in the sixth and went ahead with an three-run eighth inning for the 6-5 victory.
In the bottom of the ninth, Dominican got the first two runners on base as Robert Iglesias (Mays Landing, NJ) led off the inning with a single to center and Levy walked, but the Golden Knights retired the next three batters to secure the win.
Blake went 3-4 in the game with two RBIs, while Robinson went 2-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Luis Vasquez (Pomona, NY) suffered the loss (1-1) in two innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits. Charger starter Jordan Paszek (Sussex, WI) went 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits. Sal Sanquini (Levittown, NY) pitched 1 1/3, scattering two hits.
