BASEBALL SWEEPS NON-CONFERENCE DOUBLE-HEADER FROM COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE
Albany, NY (4/15/11) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 19-10 overall after sweeping a non-conference double-header from host, the College of Saint Rose, in games played at Bob Bellizzi Field this afternoon. Dominican won the first game, 11-6 and took game two, 6-5.

Game One: Dominican put runs on the board in the first three innings to take a 9-3 lead. Michael Levy, Jr led off the game with a triple to right center and scored as Mario Lopez (Anthony, NM) reached on a fielding error. Shortstop Marco Moreno (Miami, FL) hit a two-run single down the left field line to put DC up 3-0. The Golden Knights answered back with three runs in the bottom stanza to tie the game at 3-3.
The Chargers added five runs in the second inning as Lopez hit an RBI single down the right field line. Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) delivered a bases loaded double to left left field to score three runs and he came in to score on the two-out single by Moreno for the 8-3 lead.
Lopez picked up his second RBI as he hit a two-out single to left field to bring home Levy and increase the lead to 9-3.
Designated hitter Tony Blake (Windsor, CT) singled down the right field line to score a run and freshman Tyler Sadawske (Waukesha, WI) hit a two-out sacrifice fly bal to center field to make the score 11-3. Saint Rose put three runs on the board in the seventh for the final 11-6 Charger victory.
Caleb Whiteley (San Antonio, TX) improved to 1-1 in seven innings of work, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits and recording nine strikeouts in the complete game win.
Game Two: In game two, the Chargers scored the first run of the contest in the second inning as freshman Christopher Brown (Tenafly, NJ) hit an RBI single to right field to plate Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) for an 1-0 lead.
The Golden Knights tied the score in the bottom stanza, but DC went ahead 3-1 in the fifth as senior Dan Robinson (Massapequa, NY) hit an RBI single to left field and Camardella hit an RBI infield single for the second run.
Dominican added three runs in the top half of the ninth inning as Lopez hit a sacrifice fly ball to center to score a run and Levy later scored on a wild pitch. Camardella delivered a two-out double to right field to go head 6-1.
Saint Rose scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth as the Chargers held on for the 6-5 victory.
Jordan Paszek (Sussex, WI) went the distance to improve to 3-0 on the year, allowing five runs on 12 hits.
