PANTHERS RALLY TO DEFEAT CHARGERS BASEBALL
Pomona, NY (4/19/12) The visiting Panthers of Adelphi University rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Dominican College baseball team, 9-4, this afternoon in non-conference action played at Provident Bank Park. With the loss Dominican falls to 17-22 overall, while Adelphi improves to 16-17 on the season.

With the loss Dominican falls to 17-22 overall, while Adelphi improves to 16-17 on the season.
Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as first basemen Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) doubled home Oliver Christensen (Coral Springs, FL), who had led off the inning with a single.
AU tied the game in the top of the second and the Chargers answered back in the bottom stanza as senior Christopher Gonzalez (Bronx, NY) led off the inning with a single to center field and later scored on the one out RBI single through the left side off the bat of Robert Alonso (Kingston, NY) to re-claim a 2-1 lead.
The Panthers put two runs on the board in the third and one in the fourth to go ahead 4-2. DC came back with a two-run fifth inning to tie the score, 4-4. Camardella hit a sacrifice fly ball to score a run and Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) reached on a fielder's choice which also brought home a run.
Adelphi went ahead in the eighth with a run and posted a four-run ninth inning for the 9-4 victory.
Starter Jordan Paszek (Sussex, WI) suffered the loss (1-2) in eight innings of work, allowing five runs (four earned) with three strikeouts.
Christensen and Camardella each had two hits on the day.
Dominican is back in action tomorrow as they take on Nyack College in a non-conference game.
