CHARGERS EARN CONFERENCE WIN OVER POST UNIVERSITY

With the win, the Chargers improve to 8-4 (2-2 CACC) on the season and Post falls to 0-7 (0-6 CACC).
William Espinal (Bronx, N.Y.) earns the win to improve his record to 1-1 on the season. Espinal recorded eight strikeouts.
The Chargers recorded 15 hits as a team. Brian Sanders (La Ceiba, Honduras) led the way with a team-high four hits going 4 for 4 in the game including a double and added three RBIs, and scored three runs.
Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) and Richard Paulino (San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) each added three hits. Colon added two doubles while Paulino added a homer and two doubles. Colon and Paulino also added three RBIs each.
Carmine Giordano (New Rochelle, N.Y.) recorded two hits and drove in one RBI.
Shane Hewlette (Deer Park, N.Y.) added one hit and one RBI. Arthur Quinones (Miami, Fla.) added one hit and two RBIs. Christian Fils-Aime (North Babylon, N.Y.) recorded one hit and one RBI.
For the Eagles, Evan Wilkinson added two hits and three RBIs. Brycin Hernandez recorded three hits. Devon Ogston, Harry Allegra, Rian Balbino, and Bryon Carr all added one RBI. Ogston added a homer in the sixth inning.
Post jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the first inning.
The Chargers answered right back and blew the game open in the bottom of the first inning with nine runs.
DC added four runs in the second and third innings. Post scored in the third, fifth, and sixth innings but it was not enough as DC added two more runs in the fourth and closed out the 19-9 win.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, April 17th when they host conference opponent Wilmington University for a doubleheader. Game one is scheduled for 12:00 PM and game two will follow at 3:00 PM.
