Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/13/24) The Dominican University New York baseball team lost a non-conference game to host, Pace University, 10-3 this afternoon in a game played on Peter X. Finnerty Field.
The Chargers fall to 3-11 overall following the loss, while the Setters improve to 6-4 on the season.
Rightfielder Joseph Torres (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) collected two hits in the loss.
Pace scored four runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning for the early lead, but the Chargers got a run back in the top of the third as catcher Ty Gilligan (Ringwood, N.J.) hit a run-scoring single to center field to bring home David Knepper (Miami, Fla.).
The Setters added runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh frames to extend their advantage to 10-1. Dominican scored two runs on an error and a wild pitch for the final 10-3 score.
Starter Jedadiah Trudeau (Cohoes, N.Y.) suffered the loss.
Dominican returns to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to the College of Staten Island for a non-conference double-header.
