QUIMBY SCORES CAREER HIGH AS CHARGERS CLIP CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Bronxville, N.Y. (11/14/12) Senior center Cory Quimby (Otisville, N.Y.) scored 22 of his career high 33 points in the second half to lead the Dominican College men's basketball team to a 90-81 victory over the Clippers of Concordia College this evening in a game played at the Meyer Athletic Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Quimby finished the game shooting 11-17 from the floor and 11-13 from the charity stripe to score 33 points and grabbed five rebounds.
The Chargers trailed 21-18 with just under ten minutes remaining in the first half when a 10-0 run, capped off by a trey from Joe Clinton (Pearl River, N.Y.) put DC ahead 28-21. Concordia cut the lead to 29-25 with 6:30 left in the first half, but a 13-4 Charger run closed out the first half and gave them a 42-29 lead at the intermission.
Dominican scored 24 points in the paint in the first half, while the bench provided 17 points.
DC led by as many as 16 points in the second half, but Concordia rallied from a 64-48 deficit to cut the lead to four points (68-64) with 7:22 to go. A 6-1 run by Quimby rebuilt a 74-65 Dominican lead and the team finished the game, shooting 13-15 from the foul line for the 90-81 victory.
As a team, the Chargers shot 56.6% (30-53 from the floor) for the game and had a strong showing from the free throw line in the second half, going 17-21.
The team never trailed in the second stanza and also had 24 points in the paint with the bench providing 19 points.
A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) came off the bench to net 13 points and had a team leading eight rebounds. Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, Md.) scored 11 points.
Guard Leon Porter* (Laurel, Md.) had a team leading six assists.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday evening as they host the Daniel Sullivan Memorial Basketball Tournament. DC takes on the University of Bridgeport at 8pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
