MEN'S BASKETBALL WIN ON NIGHT ONE OF DANIEL SULLIVAN MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/17/12) The Dominican College men's basketball team improved to 3-1 overall after defeating the University of Bridgeport, 72-64, this evening on night one of the 1st Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Basketball Tournament hosted by Dominican College. In the earlier game, Assumption College beat Caldwell College, 75-59.

In the earlier game, Assumption College beat Caldwell College, 75-59.
The game was tied at 18-18 with 8:24 to go in the first half when the Chargers charged ahead with a 10-2 run to take a 27-21 lead and cruised into the break with a 36-27 advantage.
DC opened the second half with a 14-6 run to extend their lead to 17 points (50-33) and were ahead 64-54 with 2:14 on the clock. Bridgeport came back to outscore DC 10-4 over the next 14 points to cut the deficit to 68-64 with 13 ticks left on the clock. Dominican closed out the game going 4-4 from the charity stripe fo rhte 72-64 victory.
Senior center Cory Quimby (Otisville, N.Y.) led all scorers with 23 points and grabbed a team leading eight rebounds.
Leon Porter (Laurel, Md.) finished with 16 points (10-11 from the foul line) and a game leading five assists.
A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, Md.) came off the bench to score eight points a-piece in the victory.
With the win Dominican improves to 3-1 overall, while the Purple Knights fall to 2-2 on the season.
In action tomorrow, Bridgeport will take on Caldwell College at 2pm and Dominican will face Assumption College in the finale at 4pm.
