MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS CALDWELL COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/28/12) The Dominican College men's basketball team defeated the visiting Cougars of Caldwell College, 77-63, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Senior guard Leon Porter II (Laurel, Md.) had a game leading and season high 25 points (shooting 8-8 from the charity stripe).
Junior guard Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) had a season high 16 points. Senior Cory Quimby* (Otisville, N.Y.) recorded the game's only double-double of 15 points and game leading 16 rebounds.
The Cougars opened the game with an 11-3 lead, but the Chargers later came back to tie the score at 22-all with 5:23 remaining. DC led 32-31 with just over two minutes to go, but four straight CC points game them the 35-32 advantage at the intermission.
Caldwell extended the lead six points early in the second half, but DC charged back with an 11-3 run to take a 45-43 lead. Tied at 54-54 (the seventh tie score of the game), Dominican outscored the Cougars 14-5 over the next 18 points to take their biggest lead of the game, 68-59. The run was capped off by a three-point play by Quimby.
Over the final 3:17 of the game, the Chargers scored eight of the final 10 points with Quimby closing out the contest recording back-to-back buckets with the last one being a dunk off the assist from A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) for the final 77-63 win.
The Chargers are back in action on Saturday afternoon at Holy Family University.
