MEN'S BASKETBALL RALLIES TO DEFEAT CONCORDIA COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/9/13) The Dominican College men's basketball team rallied from a ten-point deficit with 14:22 to play in the second half to defeat the visiting Clippers of Concordia College, 65-55, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, DC extends their winning streak to 10 games and improves to 13-2 overall and 7-0 in the CACC.

With the win, DC extends their winning streak to 10 games and improves to 13-2 overall and 7-0 in the CACC.
Trailing 42-32 with 14:22 to go, the Chargers went on a 15-4 run, spanning a period of almost six minutes, to pull ahead 47-46. The Clippers re-tied the score at 51-51 (the eighth tie score of the contest), but senior guard Leon Porter II (Laurel, Md.) scored the next five points with a trey and a jump shot in the paint to give DC a 56-51 lead with 4:51 to play.
CC cut the lead to 58-55 with 3:30 on the clock, but a jump shot by A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and another jumper in the paint by Porter made the score 62-55 with under two minutes left. Porter followed with two free throws and Johnathan Brown (Central Islip, N.Y.) ended the scoring with a free throw for the 65-55 victory.
Porter led all scorers with 19 points (7-13 from the floor and 4-4 from the charity stripe) and had a team high three assists.
Burton came off the bench to score 11 points (4-6 from the floor), three rebounds and two steals. Brown finished with nine points (3-5 from the floor) and eight caroms.
Seniors Cory Quimby* (Otisville, N.Y.) and Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, Md.) each tallied seven points in the win, with Quimby adding seven rebounds.
DC will travel to Bloomfield College next Tuesday evening in a CACC contest.
