RALLY FALLS SHORT AS RAMS TOP CHARGERS IN TRIPLE OVERTIME
Philadelphia, Pa. (2/14/13) The Dominican College men's basketball team rallied from a 12-point deficit at the half, but fell short in triple overtime as Philadelphia University edged the Chargers, 98-95, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest at the Gallagher Center.

With the loss, the Chargers fall to 19-5 overall and 13-3 in conference play.
Senior guard Leon Porter II* (Laurel, Md.) led three Chargers in double figures with a season high and game leading 33 points and a night best seven assists.
Forward Daniel Woods (Upper Marlboro, Md.) finished with 17 points, while Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored 11 points in the loss.
The Rams jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first half and led by as many as 18 points as they went into the intermission with a 35-23 lead.
A 16-4 charge by Dominican to start the second half tied the game at 39-39 and with 12:11 to go, sophomore A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) gave DC their first lead of the game as he hit a three-point bucket to make the score 46-43.
DC trailed 61-56 with 32 seconds left in regulation when senior Cory Quimby* (Otisville, N.Y.) converted two shots at the charity stripe and Porter hit a trey with 11 ticks left on the clock to tie the game at 61-61 and force overtime play.
In the first overtime the Chargers held a 74-71 lead with five seconds left, but a Ram three- pointer as time expired re-tied the score at 74-all.
The second overtime saw Philadelphia ahead by three points, 85-82, with 1:12 to go, but Porter tied the game with a three and later hit two key free throws with three seconds left to tie the contest for the 11th time at 87-87 and force the third overtime.
Dominican trailed 97-92 in the decisive overtime period, but Burton cut the lead to two points, 97-95 as he nailed a three point basket of his own. Forced to foul, the Rams converted one of two free throws to make the score 98-95. DC had a chance to tie the game, but missed the three-point shot.
Dominican will host Goldey-Beacom College this Saturday as the team will celebrate Senior Day at the Hennessy Center. Game time is slated for 3pm.
