Wilmington, Del. (2/22/14) The Dominican College men's basketball team defeated host, Goldey-Beacom College, 67-52, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game held at the Jones Center. Following the win, Dominican has now won four out of their last five contests.

The game was tied 12-12 with 10:23 left in the first half when the Chargers went on a 15-4 tear to pull ahead 27-16 with under five minutes to play in the first stanza and used a jumper from A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) to make the score 31-20 at the break.
Dominican (17-8, 13-5 CACC) extended the lead to as many as 17 points (41-24) with 12:49 left in the second half after two free throws from Justin Turner* (Trumbull, Conn.) and would maintain a double-digit lead the rest of the way en route to the 67-52 win.
Turner came off the bench to lead Dominican with 16 points (4-8 from the floor, 8-10 from the free throw line) and add six rebounds.
Burton also came off the bench to score 15 points and have four assists, while guard Joe Clinton (Pearl River, N.Y.) netted 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Forward Nick Smith (Middletown, N.Y.) scored nine points, while Johnathan Brown* (Central Islip, N.Y.) grabbed a team leading seven rebounds.
DC will end the regular season on Tuesday night as they host Nyack College in a CACC game. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm on Senior Night.
