The Chargers topped Rollins College by a score of 59-57 to improve to 10-1 overall on the season.
Justin Copman (Cumberland, Md.) led the way for the Chargers by scoring 16 points and added four rebounds. Joshua Serrano (Amityville, N.Y.) finished with 11 points including a perfect 7-7 from the free-throw line.
Seth Sharif-Brown (Hackensack, N.J.) scored nine points and pulled down a team-high 13 boards. Sharif-Brown also recorded six steals. Joshuel White (Paterson, N.J.) finished with five points, five rebounds, and a team-high nine assists.
Javel Cherry (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) contributed eight points, three rebounds, and two assists off the bench.
The Chargers outrebounded Rollins 38-32 and forced 17 turnovers. Dominican added 11 points off of Rollins turnovers. Dominican added 24 points in the paint and 21 fastbreak points.
Rollins held a six-point lead after one half of play over the Chargers. Dominican started the second half off strong by going on a 15-0 run and did not allow a point defensively until the 12:43 mark.
Rollins answered by outscoring the Chargers 18-10 and took a slim lead with over five minutes left to play. The Chargers regained the lead and down the stretch made key free-throws to secure the two-point victory.
The Chargers will wrap up their trip to Las Vegas, NV tomorrow afternoon when they face West Texas A&M University. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 AM PST/1:00 PM EST.
