LACROSSE FALLS TO FRANKLIN PIERCE UNIVERSITY

Rindge, N.H. (3/8/14)  The Dominican College men's lacrosse team opened up the 2014 season with a 17-5 non-conference loss to Franklin Pierce University in a game played at Sodexo Field.

FPU opened the game with the first two goals, but the Chargers answered back with two straight goals, one by Conor Reeves (Tappan, N.Y.) as the team was playing a man down and the second from freshman Tanner Olsen (Chilliwack, Canada) on the pass from Hunter Curran (Virginia Beach, Va.) on a man up opportunity for the 2-2 score.

From there the Ravens went on a 6-0 run but DC scored a goal as the second period ended as Theodore Wright (Copiague, N.Y.) netted the unassisted goal to make the score 8-3.

Franklin Pierce did all of the scoring in the third period with seven goals and began the fourth period with a goal to increase their lead to 16-3.

With 12:07 left in the game, senior Thomas Dertinger (Nanuet, N.Y.) scored his first goal of the season and Wright ended the DC scoring with his second game goal off the assist from Maxwell Odynski (Northport, N.Y.) to cut the lead to 16-5.  A last Raven goal gave them the 17-5 win.
