MEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO MOLLOY COLLEGE
Rockville Centre, N.Y. (4/23/14) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell in East Coast Conference (ECC) action this evening to host, Molloy College, 12-4 in a game played at the Skelos Complex.
With the loss, Dominican falls to 1-12 overall and 0-7 in ECC play.
The Lions opened the game with the first three goals, but DC got on the board with 8:27 left in the quarter on the unassisted goal from attacker Tanner Olsen (Chilliwack, Canada).
After that Molloy went on a 5-0 run to go ahead 7-1 with 8:08 left before the break. Freshman Theodore Wright (Copiague, N.Y.) broke the run with an unassisted goal.
Trailing 11-2 after three quarters of play, the Chargers opened up the fourth quarter with back-to-back goals, one from Olsen on a man-up opportunity with an assist credited to senior Sean McGregor* (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) and the other coming less than a minute later off the stick of senior Thomas Dertinger (Nanuet, N.Y.)
Olsen finished with two game goals.
ECC Goalie of the Week, Matthew Quinones* (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 15 saves in the loss.
DC concludes the season this coming Saturday as they travel to Mercy College.
