CHARGERS SOCCER TIE WITH MERRIMACK COLLEGE
North Andover, Mass. (9/1/12) The Dominican College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Merrimack College in the final game of the Merrimack Invitational played on Martone-Mejail Field. Following the tie, the Chargers now stand at 1-0-1 on the season.

North Andover, Mass. (9/1/12) The Dominican College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Merrimack College in the final game of the Merrimack Invitational played on Martone-Mejail Field. Following the tie, the Chargers now stand at 1-0-1 on the season.
Dominican struck first in the 35th minute of action as senior Matthew Shutter (Alpine, N.Y.) headed the ball into the back of the net off the corner kick pass from Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) for the 1-0 lead.
Merrimack tied the score in the 50th minute and regulation would end with a 1-1 score.
Both team took four shots during the overtime periods, but after 110 minutes of play the score remained 1-1.
MC outshot the Chargers, 21-13 and held a 9-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Charger goalie Andres Ruiz (Medellin, Colombia) made four saves.
DC is back in action on Thursday as they open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with home game against Wilmington University. Game time is set for 4pm on the DC Soccer Field.
