Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/6/12) The Dominican College men's soccer team improved to 2-0-1 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Wildcats of WIlmington University, 2-1 in a game played at the DC Soccer Field.
The game was scorless until the 62nd minute when sophomore forward Clodalain Lolo (Stony Point, N.Y.) talllied his first goal of the season off the goal kick from keeper Andres Ruiz (Medellin, Colombia) for the 1-0 lead.
Midfielder Sony Narro (Stamford, Conn.) put the Chargers ahead 2-0 at the 87 minute mark as he converted a penalty kick.
The 'Cats netted their first goal of the game with 59 seconds left in regulation for the final 2-1 DC win.
Ruiz finished the game with five saves.
Dominican outshot Wilmington, 14-12, and held a 4-3 advantage in goal kicks.
DC is back in action on Monday evening at East Stroudsburg University.
