Bronxville, N.Y. (9/13/12) The Dominican College men's soccer team defeated host Concordia College, 3-1, this afternoon In a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at The Clippers Soccer Field. With the win, the Chargers improves to 3-1-1 overall and to 2-0 in the conference.
Concordia led 1-0 until the 22nd minute when midfielder Sony Narro (Stamford, Conn.) struck for his second goal of the season after receiving the pass from senior Dennis Kcira (New City, N.Y.) for the 1-1 tie.
Kcira recorded his first goal of the year on a chip shot over the keeper with the assisted credited to Pedro De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) at the 50:19 mark for a 2-1 Charger lead.
DC completed the 3-0 run in the 82nd minute of action as Narro scored his second goal of the game off the pass from Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) for the 3-1 final score.
Junior Andres Ruiz (Medellin, Colombia) made seven saves in the victory.
Both teams took 18 shots each, while Concordia held a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Dominican is back in action next Tuesday at Post University.
