The Chargers, the second seed in the tournament, will play in semi-final action on Friday at LaMoy Field on the campus of Post University.
The game was scoreless until the 61st minute when the Tigers struck for a goal for the 1-0 lead.
DC tied the contest at the 83:07 mark when Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) had the ball bounce back in front of him after a shot by Luis Delpezo (Rye, N.Y.) hit the post and put the ball past the Tiger keeper to make the score 1-1.
After two scoreless overtime periods, the teams went into a penalty kick situation. First attempt was by DC's Pedro De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) who scored to give Dominican a 1-0 lead. Holy Family connected on their first attempt to make it 1-1.
Both teams missed on their second shots, as the Chargers shot went wide and Dominican's keeper Andres Ruiz (Medellin, Colombia) saved the Holy Family attempt.
Jorge Zubillaga (Punta del Este, Uruguay) hit his shot for a 2-1 advantage, but the Tiger's third attempt also found the back of the net.
