North Andover, Mass. (9/4/14) The Dominican College men's soccer team began the 2014 season with a 1-0 win over the Bentley University Falcons in the first game of the Marriott Kick Off Classic hosted by Merrimack College. With the win, the Chargers improve to 1-0 overall.

The lone goal came at the 86:48 mark on a shot from eight yards out off the foot of senior midfielder Mark Grant (Tokoyo, Japan). Teammates Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) and Lukas Nordin (Lidkoping, Sweden) set up the goal with the double-assist.
Sophomore goalie Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) made two saves in the victory.
Senior Manuel Valencia (New Rochelle, N.Y.) recorded two shots (2 SOG) for Dominican, while forward Rickyle Balea (Brisbane, Australia) also tallied two shots.
The Chargers held a 9-8 advantage in shots and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks over the Falcons.
DC will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they take on the host Merrimack at 4pm at Martone-Mejail Field. In action tonight, the Warriors defeated Caldwell College 3-1.
