CHARGERS EXTEND WINNING STREAK WITH VICTORY OVER NYACK COLLEGE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/28/14) The Dominican College men's soccer team extended their winning streak to five games after beating the visiting Warriors of Nyack College, 5-2, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the DC Soccer Field.

With the victory, the Chargers who are ranked seventh in the National Soccer Coaches Assocation of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire East Region Poll, improve to 11-3-1 overall and 8-2-1 in CACC play.
Dominican struck for goals in the 21st and 24th minute of action for the 2-0 lead. Hallvard Kuloey (Bergen, Norway) scored his second goal of the year on a shot from five yards out off the pass from Lukas Nordin (Lidkoping, Sweden). At the 24:25 mark, Manuel Valencia (New Rochelle, N.Y.) scored a goal off a corner kick assist from Mark Grant (Tokyo, Japan).
The Warriors rallied with two goals before the intermission to tie the score at 2-2, with one of the goals being an own goal as it went off a DC defender into the Charger net.
In the second half, Dominican scored three straight goals en route to the 5-2 win. Sophomore Matheus Sousa (Cuiaba, Brazil) recorded his fifth goal of the year in th 63rd minute on a shot from six yards out and Grant followed at the 67:28 mark with a goal from eight yards out.
The final goal of the game came off the foot of senior Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) after he dribbled around the keeper and put the ball in the net.
DC outshot the Warriors, 16-6 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Keeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) made two saves in the victory.
