#2 MEN'S SOCCER DOWN #7 POST UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/4/14) The Dominican College men's soccer team, the second seed, downed the seventh-seeded Eagles of Post University, 4-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarter-Final game played at the DC Soccer Field.

With the victory, Dominican advances to the CACC Tournament Semi-Finals and will take on #6 Wilmington University this coming Thursday at 1:30 pm. The semi-finals and championship will take place at Lamoy Field on the campus of Post University.
The Chargers (13-3-3) netted their first goal of the game at the 17:16 mark as senior Manuel Valencia (New Rochelle, N.Y.) scored on a shot from 20 yards out after the pass from sophomore forward Matheus Sousa (Cuiaba, Brazil) for the 1-0 lead.
Sousa added to the lead with his first of two game goals just about 10 minutes later on a shot from eight yards out after the pass from All-CACC First Team selection Mark Grant (Tokyo, Japan).
All-CACC Second Team pick Lukas Nordin (Lidkoping, Sweden) gave DC the 3-0 advantage in the 35th minute of play with a goal from five yards out. Sousa was credited with an assist on the play.
Sousa delivered his second game goal and team leading ninth goal of the season at the 66:26 mark on a shot from eight yards out after the pass from Luis DelPezo (Portchester, N.Y.) for the 4-0 lead and eventual win.
Dominican led the Eagles 10-3 in shots and 3-2 in corner kicks.
Sousa led the team with two goals and two assists for a total of six game points.
Keeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) was credited with his eighth shut out win of the season in 84 minutes in the net. Matthew Snow (Greenville, N.Y.) came in for the final five minutes of the game.
