WARRIORS SNAP LADY CHARGERS WINNING STREAK
Nyack, NY (4/6/11) The Dominican College softball team, ranked fifth in the latest NCAA East Region Rankings, had an 11 game winning streak snapped today as they fell to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Nyack College, 5-2 and 9-0 in six innings this afternoon in conference play. With the losses Dominican falls to 18-10 overall and 8-2 in the CACC.

Nyack, NY (4/6/11) The Dominican College softball team, ranked fifth in the latest NCAA East Region Rankings, had an 11 game winning streak snapped today as they fell to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Nyack College, 5-2 and 9-0 in five innings this afternoon in conference play. With the losses Dominican falls to 18-10 overall and 8-2 in the CACC.
Game One: The first game was scoreless until the fourth inning when the Lady Chargers struck for two runs as Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) led off the inning with a double to center field and advanced to third on a Warrior error. A one out double to left field hit by Ashley Corrao (Staten Island, NY) brought home Childers. An RBI single hit by Paige Berzak put DC ahead 2-0.
Nyack answered back with a four-run bottom stanza to gain a 4-2 advantage and added a run in the sixth inning for the eventual 5-2 victory.
Right-handed hurler Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) fell to 8-4 on the season in 5 1/3 innings of work, allowing five runs on seven hits and three strikeouts. Childers pitched 2/3 of an inning.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers were limited to just one hit in the night cap as Brielle Kerscher (Staten Island, NY) hit a single to center field in the fifth inning.
Nyack put two runs on the board in the first, tallied four runs in the fourth and put three more on the board in the fifth for the 9-0 victory.
Childers took the loss (10-4) in five innings of work, allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits with eight strikeouts. Freshman Christine Lucido (Melville, NY) allowed three runs on one hit in the sixth.
