LADY CHARGERS RECORD FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON WITH A SWEEP OVER UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/21/21) The Dominican College softball team swept the Devils of the University of the Sciences. The Lady Chargers now hold a record of 2-6 (2-0 CACC), and the Devils fall to 0-2 (0-2 CACC).

DC took game one by a score of 6-1 and then completed the sweep with a win in game two by a score of 5-1.
Game One: The Lady Chargers recorded a total of eight hits. Rajene Bowe (Ellendale, Del.) recorded two hits including a triple. Bowe also added two stolen bases, one RBI, and one run scored.
Alyssa Siess (Queens, N.Y.) also added two hits in the win including a double. Siess also recorded an RBI and one run scored. Madison Newman (Phelan, Calif.) hit a two-run homer in the second inning to get the scoring started in the game.
Bailey Bell (Washington, Pa.), Haylee Redmond Ridge (Bellflower, Calif.), and Alyssa Schwalb (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) each added one hit and scored one run.
Shelby Smith (Valley Center, Calif.) started on the mound for DC and earned the win to improve to 1-2 on the season. Smith recorded five strikeouts over seven innings pitched.
Ashley Steiner recorded two hits for the Devils. Miranda Rodriguez also finished with two hits and added one RBI.
Game Two: DC completed the sweep with a 5-1 win in game two. The Devils jumped out in front early in the first inning when Keiya Moncilovich put the one on the board with a fielder's choice and recorded an RBI.
DC tied the game in the fourth with a sacrifice fly by Siess and then DC added four more runs in the fourth inning.
Samantha Carbonara (Newark, Del.) entered the game to pitch the final inning and recorded three strikeouts.
Journey Limardo (Anaheim, Calif.) started for DC and earned the win to improve to 1-1. Limardo recorded six strikeouts.
Bailey Bell, Haylee Redmond Ridge, and Rebecca Haggerty (Grafton, Mass.) each recorded two hits in the win. Redmond Ridge drove in two runs. Bell, Siess, and Haggerty each recorded one RBI.
Rajene Bowe and Jenna O'Reilly (Suffern, N.Y.) each finished with one hit. Bowe added one stolen base.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, March 27th when they host Holy Family University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader. Game one is scheduled for 12:00 PM and game two will follow at 2:00 PM.
