Syracuse, NY (11/27/10) The Dominican College women's basketball team lost their third consecutive game as they fell to the Dolphins of Le Moyne College, 81-64, this afternoon in non-conference action held on Ted Grant Court on the campus of Le Moyne College.

The Dolphins took a 7-2 lead in the first 0:59 of the game, but DC came back to cut the deficit to 12-9 on a Meghan Murphy (Carmel, NY) jumper with 16:54 to go before the intermission. Le Moyne then went on a 14-3 run over the next four minutes and eight seconds to rebuild a 28-14 advantage.
Over the final four minutes and twenty-two seconds of the first half, LC outscored the Lady Chargers, 9-5 to take a 52-32 lead into the intermission.
Dominican opened the second half with a 14-3 run that spanned 7:48 that cut the Dolphin lead to nine points (55-46). A 14-3 tear by the Dolphins but the lead back up to twenty points (69-49) and they never looked back en route to the 81-64 victory.
Sophomore guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) led three Lady Chargers in double figures with 11 points on the afternoon and five assists. Guards Kaity Lent (Vineland, NJ) and Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NY) each netted 10 points, with Lavelle also adding five assists in the loss.
Murphy finished with nine points, while forward Marley Klunk (York, PA) added eight points. Senior Shanice Scully (St. Albans, NY) grabbed a team leading six rebounds, while freshman KC Jentzen (Pearl River, NY) and senior forward Jasmine Schinella (Wappinger Falls, NY) each had three rebounds.
Dominican struggled from the floor, shooting just 20-59 (33.9%) and was just 9-25 from the three point arc (36%).
With the loss Dominican falls to 2-3 on the season.
The Lady Chargers are return to action on Wednesday, December 1st when they open Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play against Post University on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Game time is slated for 6pm.
