WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOSE TO UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES
Orangeburg, NY (1/29/11) The Dominican College women's basketball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest to the visiting Devils of the University of the Sciences, 70-61, this afternoon in a game held on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Trailing 16-15 with 10:22 left in the first half, the Lady Chargers went on a 9-0 run to regain a 24-16 lead as junior forward Marley Klunk (York, PA) scored seven of those points during the run.
A Meghan Murphy (Carmel, NY) jumpshot with just under three and a half minutes to go before the intermission gave DC a 34-28 lead but the Devils fought back to cut the deficit to 37-35 at the break.
Tied 49-49 with 10:08 left in regulation, Dominican scored five consecutive points to go up 54-49, but the Devils went on a 16-4 tear to go ahead 65-58 with 0:46 left on the clock and didn't look back en route to the 70-61 victory.
Sophomore guard Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) and Klunk led the Lady Chargers with 10 points, while Lopez added four assists and Klunk tallied five rebounds.
Murphy finished with nine points and five caroms, while three other players scored eight points in the loss.
With the loss Dominican falls to 6-11 overall and 4-6 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Felician College for a 6pm CACC North Division game.
