BLOOMFIELD DEACONS TURN BACK LADY CHARGERS BASKETBALL
Orangeburg, NY (2/3/11) The Bloomfield College Deacons turned back the Dominican College women's basketball team, 65-52, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the loss Dominican falls to 6-12 overall and 4-7 in the CACC.

With the loss Dominican falls to 6-12 overall and 4-7 in the CACC.
Bloomfield jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but a Lady Charger 10-2 run, capped off by an and-one play from sophomore Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) gave DC a 10-9 advantage with 13:11 to go in the first half. The Deacons went on to outscore the Lady Chargers 12-5 over the next eight minutes to regain a seven point lead (22-15).
Dominican charged back with a 10-3 run as Lopez netted the run's final five points and what would also be the final five points of the half as the game went into the intermission tied at 25-25.
DC held a 32-31 lead with just under 17 minutes left in regulation when a Deacon run of 22-10 over the 11 and a half minutes saw Bloomfield go ahead 53-42 and never looked back en route to the 65-52 victory.
Junior guard Kaity Lent (Vineland, NJ) came off the bench to lead the Lady Chargers with 11 points in the loss. Junior Meghan Murphy (Carmel, NY) tallied 10 points and a four assists, while senior Jasmine Schinella (Wappinger Falls, NY) scored eight points and grabbed a team leading 10 rebounds. Lopez finished with nine piongs and a team leading five assists.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wilmington University in a CACC game scheduled for 1pm.
