WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHARGES PAST GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY
Lakewood, NJ (2/19/11) The Dominican College women's basketball team charged past host, Georgian Court University, 71-63, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball game held at the Wellness Center on the campus of Georgian Court University.

Dominican went up 15-11 with 10:18 remaining on a Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) to give the Lady Chargers their biggest lead of the first half. DC closed out the stanza outscoring the Lions, 15-10, and scored the final six points of the half to hold a 30-21 advantage at the break.
A 12-4 run to start the second half extended the Lady Charger lead to 17 points (42-25) with 14:49 remaining in the game and led by as many as 21 points (49-28) after a trey from Meghan Murphy (Carmel, NY). Dominican would never lose a double-digit lead as they charged ahead to the 71-63 victory.
Lopez led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 6-for-12 from the floor, 5-for-9 from three-point territory and a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. Murphy contributed 14 points, while senior Shanice Scully (St. Albans, NY) led all players with nine assists. Guard Chelsea Aronica (Staten Island, NY) came off the bench to score eight points.
With the victory Dominican improves to 9-15 overall and 7-10 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action next Wednesday when they travel to CACC North Division rival, Nyack College, for a 6pm game.
