WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DROP THIRD STRAIGHT WITH LOSS TO UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES
Philadelphia, PA (2/4/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team dropped their third straight game with a loss to the University of the Sciences, 55-39, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at Morgan Arena. With the loss Dominican falls to 9-10 overall and 9-4 in conference play while USCI improves to 13-8 overall and 9-4 in the CACC.

Dominican had an early 4-2 lead on a layup by LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, NY) when the Devils went on a 14-4 run to go ahead 16-8 with 9:21 remaining in the first half. Junior Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) closed out the first half with a basket to cut the deficit to 27-20.
USCI scored the first six points of the second stanza to increase the lead to 13 points (33-20) and led by as many as 23 points in the contest en route to the 55-39 victory.
KC Jentzen (Nanuet, NY) came off the bench to lead the Lady Chargers with 10 points, shooting 6-8 from the charity stripe.
Marley Klunk (York, PA) added eight points and eight rebounds, while Harris finished with eight points and six caroms.
The Lady Chargers struggled offensively, shooting just 28.0% (14-50) from the floor and went 0-10 from the three point arc. DC were better from the free throw line, going 11-15 (73.3%).
DC returns to action on Monday night as they travel to non-conference opponent, Mercy College.
