#2 SEED DOMINICAN DEFEATS THE #7 SEED FELICIAN UNIVERSITY TO MOVE ON TO THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE CACC TOURNAMENT
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/2/21) The Dominican College Women’s Basketball team earned a win over Felician University in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Championships.

The Lady Chargers, the #2 seed, defeated the #7 seed Golden-Falcons by a score of 80-57 to move on to the semi-finals. DC improves their overall record to 10-1 (8-1 CACC) with the win.
Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) led the way for DC with 12 points, six rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Bonsu also hit two three-pointers. Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) finished the game with 11 points and added five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) added 10 points and three rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) added nine points on three three-pointers. Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.), Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.), and Elle Nittinger (Waverly, N.Y.) all finished the game with eight points. Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) finished the game with seven points.
For Felician, Briana Lee and Rosie Arias each scored a team-high 14 points. Lee added a team-high 18 boards and three assists. Arias added seven rebounds. Tiara Mahorn and Damia Jordan each scored eight points.
DC opened the game with a 20-14 lead by the start of the second quarter. DC held Felician to eight points in the second quarter and held a 39-22 lead at halftime.
The Lady Chargers used a big third quarter to extend the lead over Felician to 64-32 at the start of the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, DC extended to their largest lead of the game which was 35 points, and secured the win.
The Lady Chargers will be back in action for the second round of the CACC Women's Basketball Championships on Thursday, March 4th.
