WOMEN'S LACROSSE EXTEND WINNING STREAK AFTER DOWNING NYACK COLLEGE
Nyack, N.Y. (4/17/13) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team extended their winnings streak to six games after downing Nyack College, 20-3, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. With the win, DC improves to 7-5 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

The Lady Chargers outshot the Warriors, 27-8 and were a perfect 12-12 in clear attempts.
Sophomore attacker Allison Smithwick (Commack, N.Y.) led all scorers with five goals and added an assist for a total of six points.
Amanda Shelton (Holtsville, N.Y.) recorded four goals and two assists for six game points, while junior Brianna Blank (Point Pleasant, N.J.) netted three goals.
Christina Brennan (Washington Township, N.J.), Gina Sparaco (Freeport, N.Y.) and Kelly Barbarite (Smithtown, N.Y.) all scored two goals each in the victory.
Goalie Brittany Kiernan (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made three saves.
Dominican scored the first 11 goals of the contest to hold an 11-0 lead with 18:19 remaining in the first half. Over the remaining 18 minutes of the first half, the Lady Chargers outscored the Warriors, 7-3, to extend the lead to 19-3 at the break.
The Lady Chargers accounted for both goals that were scored in the second half for the 20-3 win.
