LADY CHARGERS FALL TO ASSUMPTION COLLEGE

Worcester, Mass. (3/12/16)  The Dominican College women's lacrosse team fell to host, Assumption College, 16-7, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at the Multi-Sport Stadium.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 0-5 on the season.

Three different Lady Chargers led the team with two goals each.  Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.), Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) and Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) all netted two goals.

Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) had the other Lady Charger goal, while Brandi Clay (Meriches, N.Y.) had two assists.

The Greyhounds opened the contest with the first seven goals, before June broke the run with an unassisted goal.  Fitzgerald followed to make the score 7-2 with 8:19 remaining in the fist half.  June and Dascher netted the final two Dominican goals of the half to cut the lead to 11-4.

AC started the second half off with four unanswered goals, but Dominican tallied the final three goals of the half for the 16-7 final score.  Gallagher broke the run with 8:21 to play and Dascher followed about two minutes later.  Gallagher ended the scoring with the game's final goal with eight ticks remaining.

Goalie Brittany Kiernan* (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made 11 saves in the game.

The Lady Chargers return to action on Wednesday as they travel to the University of Bridgeport.
