TIGERS TAME WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Philadelphia, Pa. (4/11/16)  The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team won a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game against the visiting Lady Chargers of Dominican College, 17-6, this afternoon in a game played at Tiger Field.

Holy Family University began the game with the first goal, but the Lady Chargers got on the board with 23:33 remaining in the first half as junior Brandi Clay (Meriches, N.Y.) scored a goal off the assist by senior Christina Brennan* (Washington Township, N.J.) to tie the game. 

The Tigers then pulled away with a 7-0 tear for an 8-1 lead.  Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) broke the run with a goal of Brennan's second assist with 3:09 left in the half.  Holy Family ended the first half with a goal for the 9-2 lead.

The Tigers continued on their run with the first six goals of the second stanza before sophomore Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) broke the run with 12:49 left in the game.  After back-to-back Tiger scores, Brennan's stick came alive with back-to-back-to-back goals to close out the game.  Junior Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) recorded the assist on the final goal.

Brennan led Dominican with three goals and two assists for five game points.

Lady Charger goalie Brittany Kiernan* (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made 14 saves in the loss.

With the loss, Dominican falls to 0-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
