
LADY CHARGERS EXTEND WINNING WAYS
Waterbury, Conn. (3/28/23) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team extended their winning streak to nine games this afternoon after picking up a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over host, Post University, 23-6, in a game played this afternoon at LaMoy Field.

With the win Dominican improves to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
The Lady Chargers held the 3-2 advantage with just under eight minutes left in the first quarter when they went on an offensive tear with three goals. They continued the run in the second quarter with four straight scores and outscored the Eagles 9-2 in the period to claim a 15-4 lead at the break.
Dominican accounted for all three goals in the third quarter and five of the seven goals in the fourth for the win.
Attacker Caitlin Costello (Seaford, N.Y.) recorded a career high and game best eight goals in the win. She added two assists for a total of 10 game points and had a team best six draw controls, including her 100th career draw control.
CACC Rookie of the Week, Madelyn Grella (Monmouth Beach, N.J.), dished out a career high eight assists in the win and added two goals for 10 game points.
Grace DeStasio (West Hempstead, N.Y.) delivered six goals, while Jordana Tomasetti (Middletown, N.J.) added three goals in the win.
Sophomores Sydney Strohmayer (Rocky Point, N.Y.) and Erica Ortiz (Slate Hill, N.Y.) both tallied one goal and one assist, with Strohmayer picking up three ground balls and causing four turnovers.. Jenna Rigo (East Islip, N.Y.) also recorded three ground balls and caused a game best five turnovers.
Anna Kaminskey (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) and Ellie Brouwer (West Long Branch, N.J.) each had a goal.
Starting goalie Kristinamarie Kaszovitz (Hicksville, N.Y.) made three saves in 45 minutes of action. Katharina Cohen (Sparta, N.J.) had one save in a little over six minutes of action.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday night when they host Georgian Court University under the lights at the Torne Valley Sports Complex. Game time is slated for 7pm.
