Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/14/13) The Dominican College women's soccer team opened up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Rams of Philadelphia University in a game played this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/14/13) The Dominican College women's soccer team opened up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Rams of Philadelphia University in a game played this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.
With the win DC improves to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while PU falls to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.
Senior Melissa Messina (Hillsdale, N.J.) got the Lady Chargers on the scoreboard at the 38:34 mark as she scored her team leading third goal of the season on a shot from 25 yards out for the 1-0 lead.
Forward Olivia Antonopoulos* (Baldwin, N.Y.) tallied her first goal of the season in the 82nd minute of play on a shot from eight yards out after the pass from Jamilyn Snyder* (Lacey, N.J.) for the 2-0 lead and eventual victory.
Dominican outshot the Rams, 9-6 while both teams had five corner kicks each.
Lady Charger keeper Gina Yannette (Dumont, N.J.) made two saves in the win.
DC is back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Nyack College.
