Rindge, N.H. (9/6/14) The Dominican College women's soccer team fell to Southern New Hampshire University, 3-1, this afternoon in the third game of the FPU Tournament hosted by Franklin Pierce University. Following the loss, the Lady Chargers are now 0-2 on the season.
SNHU struck for their first goal in the 25th minute of action off a rebounded shot and extended the lead to 2-0 at 56:09.
The Lady Chargers netted their first goal of the 2014 season as senior midfielder Jennifer Becker* (Hawthorne, N.J.) put the ball past the Penmen goalie at 66:40 to cut the deficit to 2-1.
A goal in the 77th minute extended the Penmen lead to 3-1 for the eventual victory.
Dominican keeper Gina Yannette (Dumont, N.J.) made 12 saves in the loss.
DC will have their 2014 home opener this coming Wednesday as they take on Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Bloomfield College, at 3:30 pm at the DC Soccer Field.
