LADY CHARGERS SHUT OUT GOLDEN FALCONS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/9/21) The Dominican College women's soccer team opened up the spring 2021 season with a 9-0 shut out victory over the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University today in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game at the OMM Soccer Complex.

Forward Natalie Cargill (Colon, La Republica de Panama) opened the scoring just 54 ticks into the contest with a shot from inside the box, following the pass from Bailey Cummings (Clarkstown, N.Y.).
DC added to the lead in the 24th minute as junior Gabriella Bedetti (Newburgh, N.Y.) used a cross into the right side of the box from Cummings to find the back of the net and take the 2-0 lead.
Almost 20 minutes later, freshman Stella Koster (Saarbruecken, Germany) increased the lead to 3-0 with her first collegiate goal off the dish from Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.). The final goal of the first half came off the foot of senior Sarah Wood (Uniondale, N.Y.) as she recorded her first goal of the season after the pass from rookie Tara Long (Myshall, Ireland).
A little over five minutes into the second half, junior Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) made the score 5-0 after the header pass from sophomore Danai Chimedza (Dacula, Ga.) In the 67th minute, Victoria Bonner (Kings Park, N.Y.) netted the unassisted goal off a shot from outside the top of the box and Koster increased the lead to 7-0 with her second game goal at the 70:44 mark.
Freshman Alyana Gonel (Teaneck, N.J.) recorded her first collegiate goal off the pass from Long with under 10 minutes to play and freshman Mariana Quinchia (Englewood, N.J.) closed out the game with her first goal off the pass from Sophia Melendez (Union, N.J.) for the 9-0 win.
Starting keeper Lauren Buchanan (Union, N.J.) made one save in the game.
Dominican (1-0, 1-0 CACC) returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Caldwell University.
