WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BEATS CALDWELL UNIVERSITY

(9/24/14) The Dominican College women's volleyball team remained atop of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball standings after posting a 3-0 victory over the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

(9/24/14) The Dominican College women's volleyball team remained atop of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball standings after posting a 3-0 victory over the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University this evening in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
With the victory Dominican remains unbeaten at 6-0 overall and improve to 3-0 in conference play.
DC won the match by scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-22.
The Lady Chargers never trailed in the first frame, leading by as many as seven points. A kill from Ashley Joyner (Edgwood, Md.) and a Cougar attack error closed out the set for Dominican.
Set two was tied at 23-all when CACC Player of the Week, McKenzie John (Lafayette, La.) recorded back-to-back kills to secure a 25-23 win.
The third set was also tied, 6-6, when Dominican went on an 8-2 tear to puall ahead 14-8. A Cougar kill made the score 24-22, but John ended the match with a kill for the 25-22 win and 3-0 match victory.
John led all attackers with 21 kills and completed her third double-double of the season with 11 defensive digs.
Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) finished with six kills, 13 assists and 12 digs, while Kayla Dexter* (Selah, Wash.) also recorded six kills.
Joyner had four kills, while Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.) had a night best 23 assists.
Dominican will travel to the University of the Sciences this coming Saturday.
