Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/18/14) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this afternoon to the visiting Wildcats of Wilmington University, 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 18-25) in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/18/14) The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this afternoon to the visiting Wildcats of Wilmington University, 3-0 (23-25, 19-25, 18-25) in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
Dominican trailed 21-16 in the first set, but used a 6-2 run to charge back and make the score 23-22. A WU point put them at set point, but a kill from sophomore McKenzie John (Lafayette, La.) cut the lead to 24-23. A Wildcat kill secured the 25-23 win.
Wilmington never trailed in sets two and three en route to the 25-19 and 25-18 wins and 3-0 match victory.
John, who currently leads the nation in kills per set, attacks per set and points per set, led all attackers this afternoon with 22 kills and completed the double-double with 12 digs.
Libero Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.) had an afternoon best 19 digs, while Kayla Dexter* (Selah, Wash.) had nine kills.
Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) had a match high 19 assists and seven digs, while Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.) had 18 assists.
The Lady Chargers return to the court on October 24th as they travel to Bloomfield College for a 7pm match.
