VOLLEYBALL SPLITS AT MERCY COLLEGE TRI-MATCH
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (10/26/14) The Dominican College split a non-conference tri-match held this afternoon at Mercy College. DC fell to Roberts Wesleyan College, 3-1, but rallied to defeat Mercy College, 3-2 in the finale. With the split Dominican improves to 13-7 overall.

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (10/26/14) The Dominican College split a non-conference tri-match held this afternoon at Mercy College. DC fell to Roberts Wesleyan College, 3-1, but rallied to defeat Mercy College, 3-2 in the finale. With the split Dominican improves to 13-7 overall.
Match One: In the match against RWC, Dominican took the first set by the score of 27-25. Sophomore McKenzie John (Lafayette, La.) recorded back-to-back kills in the win. However RWC rallied with three straight wins, 25-7, 25-17 and 25-17 en route to the 3-1 victory.
Senior Kayla Dexter* (Selah, Wash.) led the team with 15 kills and posted a career high .682 attack percentage.
John finished with the double-double of 13 kills and a team leading 18 digs.
Keely Fink (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) added nine digs and Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.) had eight digs.
Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.) posted a team high 18 assists, while Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) added nine assists.
Match Two: In the final match, DC took the early 1-0 lead with a 25-17 set win. John recorded the 24th and 25th point for the Lady Chargers with kills.
Dominican took the 2-0 lead with a 25-23 second frame score as John once again scored the 24th and 25th point on kills.
The Mavericks rallied with wins in set three and four by scores of 25-23 and 28-26 to tie the match and force the decisive fifth set.
In the final set, the Lady Chargers trailed 10-7, but used a 6-2 run to go ahead 13-12. A Mercy attack error put DC at match point and John ended the day with a kill for the 15-12 win and 3-2 match victory.
John led all attackers with a new career high of 29 kills and completed her 13th double-double of the season with 12 defensive digs.
Kayla Dexter finished with a career high 18 kills and had a team best .394 attack percentage.
Hallstein had the team leading 28 assists and 13 digs, while Kera Dexter added 27 assists and 11 digs.
Kim contributed 13 digs and Fink finished with 12 digs.
Dominican will take on Felician College on October 31st.
