VOLLEYBALL LOSES TO CALDWELL UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/6/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match to the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University, 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 15-25, 20-25), this afternoon on Coach Baxter Court.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/6/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match to the visiting Cougars of Caldwell University, 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 15-25, 20-25), this afternoon on Coach Baxter Court.
With the loss, Dominican falls to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in CACC play. Caldwell improves to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Junior outside hitter Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) led Dominican and tied the match high with 16 kills and added seven digs.
Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had a team high 18 digs, while Krystal Paulino (Bronx, N.Y.) added 11 digs.
Setter Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) recorded a season high 21 assists.
The second set was tied at 17-all when DC scored seven of the next eight points to put them at set point (24-18). Three straight kills from Caldwell's Elise Smith made the score 24-21, but an attack error gave Dominican the 25-21 set win.
DC returns to action on Tuesday evening when they travel to CACC foe, Georgian Court University.
