VOLLEYBALL EARNS FIRST CACC WIN OF THE SEASON
Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/2/21) The Dominican College women’s volleyball team earned their first conference win of the season over the Lions of Georgian Court University.

The Chargers get their first win over GCU since the 2012 season.
The Chargers improve their record to 3-10 (1-4 CACC) and GCU falls to 12-4 (3-3 CACC).
Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) led the Chargers in points with 20.5 and kills with 19. Aaliyah Ellis (League City, Texas) scored 13.5 points and added 10 kills. Lindley McCutcheon (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) scored 11 points and added nine kills.
Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) scored 9.5 points and finished with 10 digs and four kills. Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also added 10 digs and a team-high 37 assists. Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) recorded a team-leading 19 digs.
The Chargers jumped out to a 1-0 match lead with a 25-16 win in the opening set. The Lions bounced back to take the second set and tied the match 1-1.
The Chargers quickly jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the third set and never looked back with a 25-13 win to go up 2-1 in the match.
The Lions fought back again to tie the match 2-2 and send the match to a fifth and final set.
The Chargers started the fifth set strong on a 7-0 run. DC never lost the lead on their way to a 15-10 win in the fifth set and secured the 3-2 match win.
The Chargers will be back in action on Thursday, October 7th when they host the Warriors of Nyack College at 7:00 PM.
