LIGHTNING STRIKES AGAINST WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Wilmington, Del. (10/19/24) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to host, Goldey-Beacom College, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played in the Jones Center.
The Lightning improve to 9-11 overall and 3-5 in conference play, while the Lady Chargers fall to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the CACC.
GBC won the match in four sets by the scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-20 and 25-17.
In the set the Dominican won the team tallied 13 kills and a team high .345 attack percentage. DUNY never trailed in that set and used a 3-0 run to close out the set with a kill from Lindley McCutcheon, a service ace from Elizabeth Perez and a kill from Kaitlyn Carr.
Dominican had a match high 15 kills in the first set.
Perez and Carr led the Lady Chargers with 13 kills a-piece. Carr added 14 digs, while Perez finished with eight.
Setter Kaeden Sanstead dished out 42 assists and 13 digs, while libero Linda Armao Peng had a team high 15 digs in the loss.
Savannah Tody contributed nine kills (.318 attack percentage) and Aaliyah Ellis added seven kills (.308 attack percentage).
The Lady Chargers return to action on Tuesday evening when they host the University of Bridgeport in a CACC match on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center. Game time is scheduled for 7pm.
