
ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE DEFEATS CHARGERS BASEBALL
Orangeburg, NY (4/27/11) The Dominican College baseball team lost a non-conference game to St. Thomas Aquinas College, 5-0, this afternoon in a game played at Veteran's Park. With the loss Dominican falls to 22-15 on the season, while the Spartans improve to 18-20-1 overall.

The Spartan pitching held the Chargers to just three hits in the game. Outfielder Christopher Brown (Tenafly, NJ), designated hitter Tony Blake (Windsor, CT) and shortstop Marco Moreno (Miami, FL) all had a hit in the loss.
St. Thomas Aquinas put three runs (two unearned runs) on the board in the first inning to go ahead and added two more runs in the fifth en route to te 5-0 victory.
Starter Caleb Whitely (San Antonio, TX) suffered the loss (1-3), allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits. Reliver Ryan Calby (Huntington Station, NY) pitched seven innings and allowed two runs on six hits and recorded seven strikeouts. Freshman Greg Gonzalez (Franklin Square, NY) came in to pitch the ninth inning.
The Chargers are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Bloomfield College in a 2:30pm Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
