Cary, N.C. (2/25/23) The Dominican University New York baseball team fell in non-conference action to Mansfield University tonight in a game played at the USA Baseball Training Complex.

Cary, N.C. (2/25/23) The Dominican University New York baseball team fell in non-conference action to Mansfield University tonight in a game played at the USA Baseball Training Complex.
Following the loss, the Chargers now stand at 1-1 on the season.
The Mounties led 3-0 after the top of the first inning, but the Chargers got a run back in the bottom stanza on the run-scoring single by Dominic Morabito (Groton, Conn.).
Dominican added three runs in the sixth inning as David Knepper (Miami, Fla.) hit a two-run single and later scored on a passed ball to make the score 15-4. Mansfield added a run in the seventh and tacked on four more in the eighth for the 20-4 victory.
Phil Whitney (Newark, N.J.) went 2-4 in the game with a run scored.
Knepper recorded two RBI.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow.
